By creating an account or using Step Forward ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old to use Step Forward.
Step Forward is an online question bank and study platform designed for USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) preparation. The Service includes practice questions, study sessions, spaced repetition, flashcards, performance analytics, and related educational tools.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep it up to date. You may not share your account or allow others to access the Service through your credentials. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Step Forward may offer free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed through Stripe, our payment processor. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge the payment method on file on a recurring basis until you cancel.
Prices are listed on the Service and may change with 30 days' prior notice. Existing subscriptions will not be affected until their next renewal.
Free trial: If offered, the trial period and conditions will be clearly stated at signup.
7-day money-back guarantee: You may cancel your subscription within 7 days of purchase for a full refund, no questions asked. This applies to all users regardless of location.
EU/UK consumers: Under the Consumer Rights Directive, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal. If you consent to immediate access to the Service at checkout, you acknowledge that this may affect your withdrawal right for the portion of the service already used.
Brazilian consumers: In accordance with Article 49 of the Consumer Defense Code (CDC), you may cancel within 7 calendar days of purchase for a full refund.
Refunds are processed via the original payment method through Stripe, typically within 5-10 business days.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Settings page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
All content on Step Forward — including questions, explanations, vignettes, flashcards, software code, design, and branding — is the exclusive property of Step Forward and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, republish, download, display, post, or transmit any content from the Service in any form or by any means without prior written consent. This includes but is not limited to: screenshots of questions, copying question text, scraping content via automated means, or sharing account access.
Violation of this clause may result in immediate account termination and legal action.
You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any illegal purpose; (b) attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems; (c) use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract content; (d) share your account credentials with others; (e) interfere with the Service's operation or other users' experience; (f) reverse engineer or decompile any part of the Service.
Step Forward is an educational tool for exam preparation purposes only. The content provided does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nothing on this platform should be used to make clinical decisions or replace the judgment of a qualified healthcare professional. Always consult a licensed physician or appropriate healthcare provider for medical questions.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content is accurate or complete.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Step Forward shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the Service.
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any data associated with your account may be deleted after a reasonable retention period.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. For EU/UK consumers, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence may also apply. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Brazil, without prejudice to the consumer's right to bring proceedings in their country of residence.
